Two wind turbines officially commissioned at Beaulieu site in Kruisem

Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) and ENGIE have officially commissioned two wind turbines at their production facility in Kruisem. Together, the turbines have a total capacity of 8.4 MW, corresponding to an estimated annual production of approximately 23,000 MWh of green electricity. This translates into an estimated CO₂ reduction of 9,200 tons per year.

Each turbine is equipped with blades measuring approximately 70 meters and reaches a tip height of 200 meters. They begin operation at wind speeds of 9 km/h, covering a rotational sweep area of 15,085 m². It is expected that the turbines will supply between 35 and 40 percent of the total annual electricity consumption of the entire site. The Kruisem facility produces both fibres (Beaulieu Fibres) and needlefelt carpet (Beaulieu Needlefelt).

Sustainability ambition for 2030

With the Kruisem project, B.I.G. takes another step toward achieving its Route 2030 strategy, which includes the ambition to use 100% renewable energy across all operations by 2030. In addition to these two wind turbines, the Group currently has approximately 30,000 installed solar panels worldwide, spread across the United States, Slovenia, Belgium, France, and Spain.
