Press release

Over the past few weeks, Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) has been investigating how they could contribute to the still loud call for protective equipment for medical staff.

In recent weeks and with the help of its Belgian sites Beaulieu International Group has been collecting mouth masks. B.I.G. employees often need to use personal protective equipment, such as mouth masks, for their own health and safety in the production area.

These are industrial dust and protection masks (type FFP). In addition, the company was able to order several thousand more masks in recent weeks with the help of their Chinese colleagues in Shanghai.

In this way, B.I.G. can donate 2,000 high-quality FFP2 mouth masks and 8,000 KN95 mouth masks to the White-Yellow Cross West-Flanders and the Network for Palliative Care West-Flanders , who are responsible for further distribution in the province.

"Every day the media report on shortages of medical protective equipment," says Ludo Ruysen, Co-President Management Committee of B.I.G. "Through a coordinated approach, we have tried to provide an answer. We realize, of course, that this is only a small contribution in a larger whole together with many other companies, but all the small ones make one big in these exceptional times".

In addition to mouth masks, the company also donated 150 liters of disinfectant hand cleanser to some West Flemish municipalities in the region around the Waregem company.
