Route 3: We work towards a fully sustainable portfolio
To ensure sustainable living, 100% of our portfolio must meet a series of fundamental sustainability criteria across all three dimensions: environmental, social, and governance – in line with emerging regulations and frameworks on ‘Safe and Sustainable by Design’.
In addition, we aim to ensure that some of our products meet one or more advanced sustainability criteria within 3 specialized categories:
- Making materials matter: We increasingly replace virgin materials with bio-circular, recycled and low-carbon alternatives.
- Engineering for impact: We engineer smart, resource-saving products that enhance wellbeing, are built to last, and are easy to repair or reuse.
- Closing the loop: We aim to make everything fully recyclable, with take-back programs to close the loop
Why does it matter?
Climate change and resource scarcity demand a shift from traditional linear models to a sustainable economy. By maximizing the value of materials across multiple lifecycles and ensuring sustainable end-of-life, we reduce resource use, waste, and emissions. This approach fosters environmental sustainability, drives innovation, and supports economic growth and job creation.

What are we aiming for?
by 2030 we will use at least 50% recycled or renewable raw materials in our production
by 2030 we will only offer 100% recyclable flooring solutions
Where do we stand?
- The share of renewable or recycled materials used was 6,4% in 2024
- We assessed our full portfolio: within our flooring solution offer, where we face a bigger challenge 42% of our products can be considered recyclable, while we reach 82% if we include all the products we manufacture.
Closing the loop
We have also succeeded in keeping valuable materials away from landfills or incineration by focusing on design for circularity and by setting up take-back systems. Some examples: our take-back system for cushion vinyl ReLive or our event carpet Rewind of which more than double was collected and recycled in 2023 compared to 2022.

#Recycled and renewable raw materials

Collaborating to innovate vinyl recycling for a circular future
Flexible vinyl is a particularly strong type of material, few other materials are as versatile, durable, reliable and yet as flexible. However, it has been proven difficult to incorporate recycled content in flexible vinyl applications. That's why the DISSOLV project was initiated. This project aims to increase recycled components in flexible vinyl applications by replacing some of its virgin components, such as PVC resin, polyester fibers, fillers, and plasticizers, with recycled materials.
